Job description

Are you an experienced Buyer with a background in procurement within manufacturing environments? A rapidly growing manufacturing business in Cheshire is looking for a Buyer to support the smooth running of supply chain and purchasing activities. This is a Monday to Friday days role, with an early 12:30pm finish on Fridays. The position offers a salary of up to £45,000 depending on experience.

The Role:

  • Raise and manage purchase orders for raw materials, consumables and subcontract services
  • Source competitive quotations and negotiate pricing, lead times and supply agreements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal departments
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure materials are available to support production schedules
  • Track supplier performance, deliveries and quality standards
  • Resolve supply chain issues and communicate potential risks to relevant departments
  • Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement activities
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and system data

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous buying or procurement experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Confident using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft office packages
  • Understanding of steel, fabrications or engineering materials is advantageous
  • Commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments
