Job description
Are you an experienced Buyer with a background in procurement within manufacturing environments? A rapidly growing manufacturing business in Cheshire is looking for a Buyer to support the smooth running of supply chain and purchasing activities. This is a Monday to Friday days role, with an early 12:30pm finish on Fridays. The position offers a salary of up to £45,000 depending on experience.

The Role:
- Raise and manage purchase orders for raw materials, consumables and subcontract services
- Source competitive quotations and negotiate pricing, lead times and supply agreements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal departments
- Monitor stock levels and ensure materials are available to support production schedules
- Track supplier performance, deliveries and quality standards
- Resolve supply chain issues and communicate potential risks to relevant departments
- Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement activities
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and system data
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous buying or procurement experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Confident using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft office packages
- Understanding of steel, fabrications or engineering materials is advantageous
- Commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments
