Electrical Installation Engineer - Rental Team

Location: Portsmouth (must reside within 20-25 miles)
Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday (standard hours) + on-call rota (1 in 4)

Join our client's specialist rental team in Portsmouth as an experienced Electrical Installation Engineer. This hands-on role involves installing, commissioning, servicing, and repairing 3 phase pumps, motors, and control equipment (including VFDs and soft start drives) across various sites in Portsmouth and surrounding areas. You'll be pivotal in temporary installations and reactive call outs for critical equipment in diverse environments.

Responsibilities:

• Support the rental team with temporary installations, repairs, and refurbishments of submersible and surface-mounted pumping equipment, sewage systems, and treatment plants.

• Perform reactive maintenance, demonstrating quick thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Connect electrical systems to control boards (mechanical work handled separately).

• Isolate, dismantle, and inspect pumping equipment.

• Install and commission temporary rental equipment, often in confined spaces.

• Drive company vehicles as required.

• Maintain a flexible approach to meet project demands.

Qualifications Required:

• City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 (or equivalent)

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

• City & Guilds Inspection & Testing

• Completed Electrical Apprenticeship

• ECS/JIB Gold Card
