JOB - Facilities Technician (Plumbing, Steam & Pipework)

SHIFTS - Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5pm but can be flexible
SALARY - £45,000
LOCATION - Market Drayton
PENSION - 5% & 3%

I'm currently recruiting for a Facilities Technician to join the engineering team based in Market Drayton.

In this role, you'll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of water, steam, compressed air, and process pipework systems across the site. The position involves carrying out both planned and reactive mechanical and pipefitting work, including welding and fabrication. You'll play a key part in supporting our critical utilities and infrastructure, helping to ensure smooth daily production operations and ongoing compliance with site safety standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

  • Install, repair, and modify various types of pipework (copper, stainless steel, ABS, PVC, and galvanised).
  • Maintain and service steam systems, including valves, traps, condensate lines, and insulation.
  • Carry out welding and basic metalwork for pipe supports, brackets, and utility frames.
  • Ensure all welding is done safely and to a high standard.
  • Help maintain utilities like water, steam, compressed air, and drainage systems.
  • Make sure equipment is safe, efficient, and meets health, safety, and environmental rules.
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns related to mechanical systems, water, or steam.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Strong mechanical problem-solving and fault-finding skills
  • Good understanding of site utilities and their role in food production
  • Confident using computers and updating maintenance systems (CMMS)
  • Able to manage workloads, work independently, and collaborate with others
  • Clear communicator with solid reporting skills
