Maintenance Engineer
Our client, a major player in the packaging world, producing the cardboard behind some of the biggest names, is looking for a hands-on Electrically Bias Maintenance Engineer (60/40) to keep their corrugators running. You'll be a crucial part of a small team (3-4 per shift), handling a mix of preventative and reactive maintenance, electrical fault finding, and mechanical repairs. This role is a straight permanent vacancy.

The Role:
As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will provide both electrical and some mechanical maintenance support across a wide range of manufacturing equipment. The role will involve planned preventative maintenance as well as responding to reactive breakdowns to minimise downtime and improve machine performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out electrical maintenance, including fault finding on PLC-controlled systems, single and three-phase supplies, and diagnostic repairs on production machinery.
- Complete planned maintenance tasks and respond to reactive maintenance needs as directed by the Engineering Manager or Team Leaders.
- Take ownership of specific equipment areas, reporting on progress and driving improvements to safety, efficiency, and reliability.
- Communicate maintenance issues and timelines with the engineering and production teams.
- Participate in daily support meetings, contribute feedback, and help implement improvements.
- Lead or assist with small-scale improvement projects.
- Identify and refurbish critical spare parts for key machinery.
- Handle administrative duties, including liaising with suppliers and manufacturers where necessary.
- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all company policies and safety procedures.
- Accurately record tasks using CMMS software (Maximo).
- Support wider engineering initiatives including SPS/SMS programs.
What We're Looking For:
- Background in packaging/cardboard manufacturing
- Qualified with HND/HNC, MBQ Level 3, or completed an Electro/Mechanical Apprenticeship (with proven experience on manufacturing machinery)
- Confident with electrical & mechanical fault finding
- Either an experienced hand who gets the job done or a young engineer ready to learn and grow
