Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer

Are you an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer with a strong background in maintaining machinery within a FMCG manufacturing business based in Stockport?

Our client is looking for an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer to enhance the current team. As the electrical Maintenance Engineer you will be a time served Maintenance Engineer and have a formal qualification in electrical engineering, preferably an HNC.


Working the following rotating shift pattern - 5am-1pm, 6pm-2pm, 2pm-10pm and 3pm -11pm. Offering a salary of £44,072 per annum inc Shift allowance

The role -

  • Both reactive and planned maintenance on high speed machinery
  • Provide electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and process maintenance cover on a day to day basis on all production and site assets as indicated by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Fault diagnosis on automated systems using laptop PC and PLC's to resolve faults and control issues.
  • To identify and carry out Continuous Improvement activities in conjunction with line production colleagues.
  • To keep maintenance and quality records as required, using paper and computerised systems as specified by the Company.
  • Undertake machine start up and planned shutdowns as require

The Suitable Candidate -

  • HNC in an engineering background or NVQ Level 3
  • Must be experienced within an FMCG environment
  • A strong multi-skilled background and able to understand the root cause of machine breakdowns and develop solutions.
  • Ability to work within a team and be a team player
  • Strong communication skills with a can-do attitude
